Post Looking for a hard Tonneau...

Here's what I'm looking for... I'm getting a 2000 Flare-side bed, and I'm looking for a hard-tonneau that is flush-mounted. (i.e. it needs to not cover the top rails) I would prefer one with the releases inside the bed (for security). I used to have one called FastBack made by Horizon Industries. It was OK, but not the best or only one I'm sure. Any suggestions? Thanks.

By the way, I've still got the FastBack from my '97... anyone interested?

I don't know if this is what you may like but I know there is a company that makes a cover that is vinyl on the outside and aluminum on the bottom. It rolls up into a contraption mounted behind the cab and you pull it out and attach it. Supposed to provide a water tight seal, don't know if it is lockable or not. I cannot remember the manufacturer but if no one on the boards knows it, I can find it out for you.

Then again, maybe that is not what you want??

Well, I stopped at the shop where I had the one put on my 97. Turns out, the company closed down shortly after I got mine, and was bought out shortly thereafter. They redesigned the cover and now it's cheaper quality, and a slightly different design that's nothing but trouble. Apparently, they too went out of business. So basically, even if I put the one from my 97 on, if I ever had trouble with it, I'd never be able to get parts. I really liked it, though. I'm still tempted to put it on... any other suggestions?

Found It!!! It was on this site all along... it's made by Urban Industries, not Horizon like I thought. It looks like a better product than the one I had, but the dealer I went to said they were cheaper quality and overpriced now. Any opinions on it?

I'm not sure what brand of hard tonneau you are looking for, but the one that Africanhut mentioned above is Pace Edward's Roll Top Cover. Check it out at www.paceedwards.com
Hope this helps.....
