Question Genuine Steel Pro-Steps Install?

Ok, I purchased the Genuine Steel Pro-Steps for my '97 F150 SC, and I have run into a problem with the install. With the lovely tailpipe that extends in front of the rear tire, I cannot install these steps. I've sent an email to customer support at Genuine steel telling them my problem, but I was wondering if anyone here had installed these, and if they had found out how to circumvent this issue (aside from installing a cat-back system!!!)
Thanx.

I have these nerf steps on my truck, and they were a huge pain to install. It may be easier if you have a 4x2. I don't think there is any way to get them on yours without modifying the exhaust. If possible, I'd return them because the brackets are not that strong...I added extra support struts to the bars to keep them from bending a lot when stepped on.
