Question What do you think of the price on these Nerf Bars?

I was checking out some steel horse stainless steel nerf bars for my 4 door ext cab and came across a set that is going to cost me $190 shipped to my door. I thought this was a great price! Should I go on with the purchase?

Stainless steel (chrome) for only $190. Sounds too good to be true.

I found this site http://www.ustruckaccessorieswhse.com/sh-nerfb.html
The stainless Steel Horse are $289 and the Black are $199.

Sounds like a great deal if they are the same ones.

F150Y2K,
I talked to someone on another board that had them and he said they were great, no problems with them. I forgot to ask if they are frame mounted or body mounted. I will probably order the same ones through Carparts.com, then take the 1/3 off coupon, that will put it at about $190. Someone on here said they had a problem with the fit on a Steel Horse grill guard, can't remember who though.

That's exactly who I'll be getting them through - carparts.com What should I like out for if they are frame or body mounted? What's the difference? I'm sure we'll be getting the same ones since we both have 4 Door Ext. Cab's. If you find out what they are (Frame or Body mount) please let me know if it's worth it.

THanks

It really doesn't matter to me if they are frame or body mounted, I never plan on supporting my truck on them like Mudder did when he went 4-wheeling It did seem like a big deal to some people who were concerned about the differences in strength.

It doesn't matter if nerf bars are frame or body mounted unless you are planning on balancing your truck on them...both mounts are usually very sturdy for stepping on. I got the frame mounted ones and welded up additional brackets and bolted them from the frame to the middle of the bar for added support. I had two of my friends (both 250lbs+) jump up and down on them at the same time...they didn't bend...I'm happy.
