Tonneau & MPG

Does having a Tonneau Cover have any substantial change in fuel economy? I am trying to talk to my wife into letting me get one (she's the boss). My best argument is that it will eventually pay for itself in raising average MPG. Has anyone out there figured their before and after MPG?

search...I guarantee hours of fun with this topic

I'll save you a little effort. Since I feel a little too engertic this morning.

and

and lastly

Those should give you an idea. Summation is simple, most people love the security and looks but don't believe to have helped the overall mpg's and in the few cases where it is supposed to have helped it is negligible at best.

Just copy the article to your desktop change it to what you need it to say and show the wife that you really really this "gas saving" accessory.

Good luck

I got mine for security, looks, and hopefully better mpgs.

I got the security, the looks but no difference in mpgs.

But again the main reason was the security. I have a hard ARE cover that locks and I always keep my work gear in their at all times (unless I need the space).

Same here. I have also noticed that I don't get blown around from crosswinds like I used to. I haven't noticed a change in MPG.

I have a tonneau cover. I noticed a slight increase in mileage. If you travel much on the highway, it's definitely worthwhile.

p.s. Check out this article http://www.fordf150.net/misc/tonneau...pg-article.php
