Question Installing expy console

I've looked at all the other posts about the expy consoles but I need a little help! I am installing a 2000 console, 2000 F150 captains chairs in a 2000 F150 reg. cab after removing the 60/40 seat. I plan on removing the armrests and having the side panels replaced to cover the holes, so this won't be a problem. My question is what is the best and/or easiest way to mount the console since I have no mounting bolts in the floor? Any help would be appreciated.

I wouldn't be suprised if those mounting bolt holes are there anyway. It's cheaper for ford to build all the compnents alike and then put in whatever order specs come down the line for finishing so putting the nuts into the body probably was done. Here's what the pattern looks like on a SuperDuty/Excursion. But under the carpet they might already be in place on yours anyway.

I made the same mod to my 99 F150 S/C and "cphilip" is right. The holes are already there, you just have to locate them and cut the carpet out around the hole. Just be sure not to cut too much like I almost did.
First, I installed the drivers chair since it bolts right up to the exsisting holes from the 60/40. Then, mount the console bracket to the front of the console (if it's not already mounted) and mount the rear bracket to the tranny hump. Slide the console onto the rear bracket and secure it in the front and back. This "slide" may be considerably more difficult with a Reg. cab vs. Super cab due to limited space in the rearof the seats. Once you get it in place and secure, install seat #2. You will most likely have to find the holes for the left side of the pass. seat and cut the carpet for them as well. I also had to TAP the hole in the front since it wasn't threaded. I had a tap so it wasn't to difficult. You may be able to use the bolt but you run the risk of damaging the threads. Hope this helps some. LOL.

if you dont have the studs in the floor that is the easiest way. The way they are mounted in the expy is with bolts not with studs in the floor and nuts like the F-150. The holes that are in the floor are threaded so just get the reight size bolts and it is an exact fit. You will also need to get the front mounting plate from an expy of f-150 they are the same, the console is a direct fit. I already installed mine and it was easy

Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't gotten into it yet, so the info will be of help. I figured it would be a tight fit in a regular cab but surely it'll go in. I may not have enough room to slide it in and will have to figure out another way. Does anyone happen to know what size bolt would secure it to the floor?

I believe it's an 18mm in the back and 15mm in the front. All I did was mounted the two brackets, slid console into place and then four smaller bolts secure the console to the brackets. The easy way to figure out the bolt size is this: if you had a 60/40 bench in there at first take the front and rear bolt that secured the passengers portion of the seat to the tranny hump( the rear one will be bigger). Go to a hardware store and find the metric nut that fits the bolts... remember the size of the nuts and go find the bolts. You'll have to buy two of each bolt. You should have 2 mounting holes visible on the tranny hump- the other two are on the same line closer to the passenger side( they can be seen from underneath if that helps any). Good Luck!
