I did the brakelight mod when I installed the lens covers...easy mod that hooks up the second brake light (Ford should have hooked it up to begin with). Thanks to whomever posted the brakelight mod info.

MARV!

I didn't need to see those!! Now I'm gonna have to go get them.
We have very similar trucks and they look great. Up till now I hadn't seen anything for the Flaresides.

Thanks for the info!!

Has anyone put blue dots in their tail lights? Preferably on a Flareside?

Thanks for all the compliments...those taillight cover sure are nice. FYI, reflections underneath the tailgate are just that...they are from 1"X 4" self-adhesive reflectors. I bought them at Autozone and they are "Blazer" brand. There were several posts on there a few months back...I think it was Capt America who started the post. I have to give credit elsewhere for this reflector mod. The neat thing is that they can't really be seen unless you are right behind the truck with a light shining forward.

I like your Image Tail Light covers, but we have no Pep Boys where I live in Ohio. Is the model #90109-YZ Pep Boys or Image's? Also do you know the place on F-150 that I can find the Brakelight mod instructions or could you post haw you did yours. I have used the search and could not locate the instructions.
Thanks

ELR:
Thanks for the interest...the brand is "Image" with stock #90109-YZ (the YZ is Ford code for Oxford white)

The stock # appears to be Image's number...there is no reference to Pep Boys on the label. Also, there is no info on the label about the "Image" company...no address or anything

As far as the taillight mod goes, its a simple jumper wire from the top lamp to the bottom lamp. Both upper and lower lamps are identical with two elements (one for light and one for brake), but only the upper one is wired to operate when the brake pedal is depressed. I made a 6" jumper and ran it from the upper to the lower. I had to take apart the connectors to get the wire inserted (I soldered it to the upper connector after tinning the wire so it wouldn't get all spread out). It took about 45 mins but coulda done it in 30. Let me know if this makes sense or not.

Cool

The tail light mod was first posted in the Lightning forum. Since it is just for the stepsides....

I also have similar tail light covers from GTS except the middle slot is seperated into 2 parts with 1 for the white backup light part. I sanded and painted to color match. You can see them on my website at http://members.xoom.com/chrisinjax/ford/ford.html

Chris,
mine are like yours but AVS. They were very hard to find and to convince the accessory store that they existed. Mudder ordered them for me. I like them.

OK, on the way home from my excursion to get my Line-X today I stopped by Pep-Boys as they have been announcing SALE SALE SALE on truck accessories siince Marv1 posted here. I'm looking at the AVS black and the Image ones right next to one another. $49.99 for the ones already painted or $16.99 for the black ones and $1.99 for a can of paint, hmmmm. I couldn't live with myself if I spent $30 for something painted when I could do it myself.(especially after the $398.00 Line-X) I get the AVS and the paint and head home. Take them out to check the fit before painting and I'll be damned if Ford didn't move the reverse light from the middle to the top. So now the little opening is useless, everyone with a Y2K keep this in mind. They are listed 97-00 F-150 Flareside on the package, but won't look right.

That's what I get for being a tight-***, I guess.

I did the taillight mod yesterday. Took about 20 mintues including hunting down a piece of wire to use as a jumper.

Thanks to all that posted for the information. My friend tells me to quite reading this site because every time I see something new I tear into my truck. Keep the data coming.
