Arrow Adding on Reverse Lights

I want to add on a set of reverse lights under the bumber of my truck. Has anyone performed this mod and if so, which were the lights you installed?

I was also thinking that installing a set of square lights as opposed to round lights would be better because it would spread the light around the back of the truck instead of shooting out a straight beam from round lights. Any ideas?

THanks!

I added a pair of 55 watt rectangle lights from Pilot. Got them at Auto Zone for about $25. They've been on for about 3 months now. They really help light things up when backing up.

Farmboy and I must have the same lights. I got mine from pepboys for $25.00. Called Blazer or something. 55 watts. Mounted under the rear bumper in two exsisting holes. I just removed the bolt that was there and used the bolt and nut with the light to replace it. Wired a relay so that when the factory reverse lights come on, so do the new ones.

Pretty effective too. I really needed them since the windows are tinted.

I have the Blazer lights from Pep Boys also and I also installed the halogen replacement backup lights. Both very easy to install, but personally I dont think they provide enough light. Hardly noticable with the tinted windows. Don't get me wrong, it is an improvement over stock but you might want to consider a brighter light (more than 55 watt).

My opinion.

I put a pair of bullet lights in because I had an older plastic set that I replaced with alloy. I also dark tinted my windows so couldn't see a damn thing behind me. I have a long driveway and the bullets work pritty good. I also replaced the back-ups with halogen that have the back-up beeper. That didn't do much for the lighting but at least the kids know to get out of the way...
