Post Best tire shine product

I am currently using McGuire's tire shine w/ decent results. (Low sling on body and good shine)

What have you all found that works best and lasts longest?

I use Meguiars Tire Gel on my tires and really like it. It may be the same as you have mentioned.

Cool

I did use Meguiars, but that became a pain when the gel would get stuck in the letters, and that pad would break. Guess it's just not good on big all-terrains. But now I use Black Magic Tire Wet, and it's great. The good thing is that it's not a foam, just a clear spray, and looks really good.

I use a silicone based shine also. I love it and it lasts a long time. It's even there after it rains. Black Magic is what I use when I can't "get" the stuff from the detail shop at work. Water based products just don't cut it (armor all, stp, 2001, meguiars, and any other "white" spray)

I use that tire wet stuff. Bye a bottle of it pour it in a tub or small bucket, buy a 4 inch paint brush and just dip the brush in the tire wet. Wipe off excess in bucket and apply. It gets into all those little cracks and does not spray all over the truck and you also use a whole hell of alot less.

When I was in junior high and high school, my dad owned a Phillips 66 station in West Texas. Full Service! (remember those?) We used to hand wash about 20 cars a day. Our tire shine was a squirt bottle of water with about a half cup of sugar mixed in. Yep, just sugar water! Did a great job and was very cheap. Try that before buying those high priced cans of aerosol stuff.

I am not now, nor have I ever been an employee of any sugar company! <G>

Meguire's Endurance.

Lasts for weeks instead of days and since it is a gel that is put on with it's own curved applicator to match your tire shape, you don't get any overspray to spot your rims.

Black Magic Tire Wet is what I use does a real good job of just making the tires glare.
I hate using anything that's too time consuming or requires a lot of work. Clean the wheel, dry it, spray on liberally, drive away.

I've used the McGuiars products and was really dissatisfied with the tire product. The gel can collect in nooks and crannies (like raised letters) and sling all over. The second time I used the stuff, I had little black dots on the windows and side body panels that were a pain to clean off.

I've seen them use a paint brush at the full service car washes. It does do an excellent job. What do you do with the excess? It seems it would be more feasible for a place like that with high volume of cars.

The volkswagen dealer puts tire dressing on the whole wheel to make it easier to clean brake dust off. The dust sticks to it more, but it does wipe right off. I started doing that to the truck when I got it.
