Ford mud guards

I just bought a set of the Ford molded mud guards. I have a brand new 05 lariat supercrew!! The istructions on these things suck. It looks like I have to take out a couple of the color matched plastic plugs that hold on the wheel molding. How do you get these things out and still be able to put them back in. Does anybody have any great ideas??? PLEASE!!

I've got a tool that looks like a screwdriver with a y-shaped thing on the end that is made especially for removing plugs like this. You should be able to get one at just about any auto parts store.

take the factory guards back to ford and get your money back. i had mine installed by the dealer and in two days they were gone. i bought aftermarket HUSKY mud guards. the are custom moulded and look and fit a heck of a lot better than the oems. easy installation and about $30 a set.

if you install them correctly, no aftermarket's will look, or perform any better. they fit up nice, and they look like they belong on the truck. you just cant beat a genuine, with any aftermarket part.

92f150302 doesn't know what he's talking about. Aftermarket ones are fine, pending what company and style you go with tho. I have aftermarket molded on my truck and am very satisfied. 92 go drink some Seafoam.

I've had the Ford molded guards for at least 4 years with no problems at all. They have held up just fine to mud, snow, & ice. Look good and fit good.

The factory ones suck!

I had my truck for 3 months, and my STX is 2wd so I'm not out off roading with it, and my rear ones were completely shredded off! They replaced them and I got to looking at them and they are so flimsy. The inside part that just hangs there, not actually attached to anything....yeah who thought that was a good idea?
