Good question Limelight. I don't think the tails would be all that difficult to put in, but are the corners pretty tricky?

 

My corners took me about 4 minutes each.
Just undo the bolt via (10mm I think) on the top of the corner. Give the corner assembly a little shake and they should just pop on out.

BTW, I have never seen clear tails for the flaresides, just the stylesides.

I was just looking at the clear corners for the f150 on autodynamic.com and I noticed that thy kind of look different than the others. They looked like they had a black rim around the lense and the reflecotr didnt look correct. Is this just the picture or are they different than other corner lenses?

ND-BWM... i figured the tails would be easy, at least if they are basically the same on the old trucks..

The corners are real easy to remove. Only one screw,(7mm), give a little pull and wa-la. I put in dark blue bulbs, and it looks real cool, like a Lexus or something, but I'm pretty sure that's illegal so I put the ambers back in. Does anyone know if they are illegal or not? Dave? I've been stopped for the super white bulbs, but no tickets. They have a "blue" tint. I don't think I want clear tails, I want them to see me stopping from far away.

red98f150stx- I noticed the black trim, too. I thought it looked okay. I will know more when I get mine.

 

Just got mine in the mail! No, the seal is not black. They look just like the other ones I have seen.

But, they do not fit my truck. I have an early production 97. I bought my truck in March of 96. My headlight assembly is totally diffrent from later 97 models. Lucky for me my stepdad bought mine. Just put them in for him. Easy as hell! Well, guess I will just have to live with my stock corners.

Thanks Dave. I was not for sure if the blue lights(corners) were legal or not, and did not want to take the chance. Common sense just told me it may not be a real good idea.

Just got a new JCW catalog, and on the cover they have the clear corners listed as starting at 19.95, but of course the only thing you can get that cheap is the third taillight for an s10... anyway, I have a question. They have two seperate listings for the new bodied f150, 97-98, and 99 (which I assume includes 2000). Under both the clear taillights have the same part number, but the 99 is listed as having no clear corners for the front. Are the 99-00 headlights different from the older ones? Has anyone put the clears on a 99-00?

As stated in my previous post, I bought and installed the clear corners from the F150 online store on my 99. They arrived in about 4-5 days and popped right in, no problem. Also helps support the site. Good luck! They look great!
