I have a roll-n-lock that was on my truck when I bought it. I had never heard of the company or seen one before, but I've been impressed with it so far. It looks a little more "industrial" than some of the soft covers, but the security is worth it. It has its own lock, so when you shut it and lock the tailgate, you can't get to the bed at all. It's even weather tight as far as I can tell. I hauled a mattress set up to Idaho in February, and no snow or sleet got through. One thing that is a concern is that it eats up a little space at the end of the bed where the covers "rolls up." If I ever have to haul something really long, I'll have to find out how hard it is to take off. Hope this helps.
Roll-N-Lock does makes a cover for the Flareside. I don't believe Pace Edwards makes one and I am not aware of the other brand.

IN RESPONSE TO YOU ROLL TOP HARD COVER QUESTION.
I HAVE A ROLL TOP HARD COVER MADE BY PACE EDWARDS ON MY F150 FLARESIDE. I HAD TO GET THE MOTORIZED COVER, IT JUST LOOKED TOO COOL AND I REALLY LIKE THE REMOTE BUTTON PLACEMENT INSIDE THE TRUCK RIGHT BESIDE THE HOOD RELEASE. MY ROLL TOP IS MADE FROM ALUMINUM AND IS BLACK. THE TOP AUTOMATICALLY LOCKS WHERE-EVER YOU DECIDE TO LEAVE IT. SO IF YOU OPEN YOU ROLL TOP HALF WAYS, IT STAYS THERE WITHOUT YOU HAVING TO LOCK IT MANUALLY. I TOUGHT THIS WAS REALLY NICE. IT'S NOT FULLY WATER-PROOF, BUT IT DOES DETER MOST OF THE WATER FROM ENTERING THE BED.
NOBODY HAS IT WHERE I LIVE....AT LEAST NOT YET. SO, UNTIL OTHERS JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON, I'LL HAVE THE BRAGGING RIGHTS.

I have been looking to get one myself. But after everything I have found out, the Pace Edwards is about $80 less and since they just started using the j-bolt installation, they are just as good as the Roll-n-lock. My concern is that they only offer a one year warranty. PE is also a bigger company. The PE is about $850 installed ($50 is for the j-bolt installation instead of bolting the thing right to the truck. I don't like the idea of anything directly connecting to the metal on my truck. Rust has got to be a problem over time.
The people around here say that since PE now uses a j-bolt installation they are better than Roll-n-Lock.

I still feel that the Retrax cover is better than both. I met a guy last week with a Roll 'n Lock and I wasn't that impressed. If you haven't heard Applied Products finally has a website up: www.rolltopcover.com
