Thanks ! I just got it done and it looks GREAT ! I was told to stay away from the 3M stuff - it tends to turn purple and bubble.

Thumbs up

I had the 3M tint on my 93. It was great stuff. I liked the fact that there was a lifetime warranty on the stuff in case it should turn purple or bubble. Maybe they treat us better up here since 1 of the Ms in 3M stands for Minnesota.

Question

What is the best shade to get?
I want it to look stock, but do a decent job of keeping the sun out.
How much should i expect to pay for a good job and what pitfalls to look for?

Talking

Hello 54regcab,

I called today to ask how much a Tint job would cost for my F150. I was quoted a price of $90.00 including a Life Time Warranty. I'll make a few more calls tomorrow and compare prices.......

I live in Florida and have never used tint on my cars. Result - the seat fabrics fade really bad. What tint can I use to combat this or is there a seat cover to prevent fading against u.v.'s.

Some of the shops around my way use a product called Sunguard. I know nothing about it except that it comes with a lifetime warranty. I suppose the big questins is, Which lifetime? your car or the company that manufactors the stuff. Has anyone heard of this stuff?

Wink

Ok it's down to what shade ot get.
Shops here charge about $75.00 on average.
Should I go with 20%, 30% or 35%?
20% is the darkest that is allowed in SC.

I am getting my windows tinted tomorrow at a Ziebart. I think I will get the darkest possible on the back windows (20%), and then depending on how dark they let me get the side windows..I will go with that (30 or 40%)
