Okay, I'm confused here. Help me out peeps. I just read a thread from *Duke* that posted pics of his throttle cover after he painted it to match his truck. My 4.2L doesn't have a throttle cover! Is this common or did I get a truck that wasn't finished!!?? Thanks for any info and I LOVE THIS SITE!

Yes their is a cover, but it is not as big as the V8's. It's on the right, behind the air inlet. My truck is dark red, so I think I will paint mine good old Ford Blue. I hate to see those grey engines. I only wish that Ford would have kept a little blue. Heck if summer can arrive someday, I think I will paint my valve covers Ford blue (if possible). That should be enough to remind me that my engine is in a Ford truck.

 

I have 98 4.2L and it has no throttle cover either. Don't think it was supposed to come with one.

 

Okay, thanks Preyhunter and 4byFord. It just looks unfinishded with the wires sticking up like that. I'm somewhat of a nonconformist so i'm looking to add a nice throttle cover of my own with perhaps using the cover from a 4.6l. If there's a will, I'll find the way, right? It won't be a true throttle cover but it will hide the exposed wires and such. Again, thanks for the input. Jim
