Hi Pat and Welcome!

Use the search feature, there were several good threads about shades in the Appearance Forum and maybe Other body and Aftermarket.

Try using 'window vent'.

Nice truck you have there!

Hey Pat look at the topic sun visor. I just sent Joshman info about the slide in type. Very easy install.

Howdy Pat,

Ive got Vent Shields on my truck and LoVE EM.
They stick to the rubber trim that is around the window opening. When the weather is HoT I can keep my windows Crack'D open and don't have to close them if it starts to rain.

Question Side Window Air Deflectors

Hello everybody! Am really enjoying all the great info I'm finding here.

Haven't seen any posts on deflector/sun shades for the side windows of my truck. Anybody have experience? I've heard of one kind that slips into the door trim and another kind that uses double-sided tape to attach. Am a little leary about sticking tape to my truck, but wondering if forcing plastic under the trim would be any better.

Thanks in advance for info...

I'm thinking of getting some for my truck as well as a bug deflector I'm thinking of the stick on kind because they look like they are easyer to install.

Hey Pat just got my windows tinted and while I was there had them install The Original Vent Visor deflectors and the were applied with double-sided tape but also went under the trim in the front by the rear view mirrors. I can't roll down my windows for 2 days so I dunno about the functionality but they look great. I smoke and always have the windows down or cracked. when it rained I was flooded out so that's why I wanted them.

Cool

I have the kind that goes in the window channel. They look TIGHT!! They're actually easier to put on because they are molded to go on a certain way, where as the stick on type I've had a problem in the past with the top corners coming off which leaves a gap for water to drip through.

Thanks for the responses, folks. Sounds like there's no clear winner between the slide-in and the stick-on types. I guess there are no brands that stand out either way, huh?

PatM

Go to macneilauto.com and check out their WeatherTech window shades. These are probably the best looking and functional ones you can get. They look a whole lot cleaner then the stick on's and you can pop them in and out. When it's real cold, they creak a little when you roll the window all the way up - but once it seats, it's fine. When people see these on my truck, they wish they had never gotten the stick on's!!!! Just my .02

Happy Truckin'

I have stick-on type, profile-plus brand, also got their bug shield which sticks on with velcro type dots. Got them at K-Mart over a year ago. No problems so far, look great. Really like the bug shield since it requires no drilling and is easily removed for cleaning.
