Question Expy Center Console

Greetings!

Does anyone know if the center console from the Expy will hold the stock 6-disc changer from a F-150? I haven't had a chance to check into this at the dealer yet. I assume that Ford would make them interchangeable so they could use the same parts/wiring harness, etc., but ya never know.

I called the local dealer regarding the Expy center console ... the only way to order it is piece by piece (14 total parts including the lid, screws, brackets, cup holders, etc.)and assembly is required ... cost for a new part(s) was like $500.00, which is a little steep.

If anyone has any info on this, I would appreciate it.

Steve

FasFreddy,

Let me know too...I have mine on order and I never thought about the CD changer. Also, I hope LWM sends me a 98 or earlier model because I like my armrests!

What about cutting a rectangular hole in the frontmost side of the console and mount it sideways. I'm thinking of putting a Alpine CD player in a Expy console,
I'm not sure if a factory CD player can be mounted sideways, but the Alpine can be.

FasFreddy,

Posted in the other one, too, but my CD changer fit fine. Don't know if a 2000 is different or not. As far as mounting sideways, mine specifies on the sticker "vertical mount".... It also says manufactured by Clarion. I wonder if a Clarion head would control it??? Gonna find out...

TekSec.....i looked at a 2000 console today...its bigger...i personally don't like it as much.....i can put the changer in this console but not with my old hardware...as far as verticle goes, u can change it to 45 degrees or horizonal....u just adjust the spring setting on the side like all other changers....i like to have all the storage i can have so will probably mount it else where....i too and by the way...i used dif bolts in the back like someone else on here did...they were 12mm 1" lg...i also cut the carpet for the new brackets so i wouldnt have the space around the bottom like i have heard others say.....
