Post 2000 Overhead console ?

Anybody think of adding the compass/temp displayed overhead console to the 99's ? Is there a another aftermarket equivalent ? Thanks.

Cool

If you want the temp and the compass go with the Donnelly Mirror with the color light guard. Works great.. Put one in my 99 cobra... Hope this helps... Or you can goto midwests biggest used car and trucks salvage yard and buy one with the sunvisors and console. My friend bought one complete for $225.00 Good deal.. Goto www.kensingtonmotors.com

I was at the dealer the other day and looked inside a 2000 and it was listed as standard equipment on the XLT. I thought, damn should have waited one year. Asked the parts guy($$$$) but he had no clue that the 2000 even had a overhead console with compass/temp. I might do the mirror thing, but the console seemed nice. Still looking.

Cool

You'll need the new headliner, the console, the bracket for the console, and all the factory wiring. I'm not sure how you could mount the bracket to a 99 and earlier truck either. Not an easy task. Go for the mirror.

Sycoholic...thanks for the info..you see them everyday. I wasn't real sure if the liner etc were different...just seemed like a good idea with the temp/compass/holder etc. Total that all up and I'd have a payment on the 99!

Hello, I saw a mirror one at Pep Boys... I have heard only good things about it. Not sure of the price, but I am sure it's cheaper than the $200+ listed above! Besides, the overhead console only holds glasses and a garage door opener, so, "pick your poison!"

Good luck!

Exclamation

Word of caution when adding an aftermarket overhead console...a friend of mine was not paying attention and drilled through his roof with a self drilling screw. (yes, he has caught hell for his mistake').
