Help for grey rr window trim
I have been looking for something to help my faded grey rear window trim. I am afraid to wax it because it is not a glossy surface. I have had the best success with many coats of "Back to Black." What is everyone else doing to deal with this eyesore?

What a timely post! I just noticed last weekend that mine is fading on the top surface of the trim piece. Hopefully someone will answer your question.

Same problem. Back to Black is helping. Would like some answers also. Of course we all know Cableguy would paint it, wrap it in tweed and billet it!

The sun is murder down here in South Florida and being the **** individual I am I too am bugged by the fading. I used Black Chrome (turtle wax makes it I think) and you can get it from Pep Boys...worked pretty good and lasted all right.
Don't know if its similar to Back to Black or not..its sorta creamy gel stuff w/ a grey tint to it...I use it on my flare steps and top of the front bumper...lasts a lot longer than armour all.

The trim around the rear window should be UV protected ABS plastic. If your truck is under warranty I'd see if you could have it replaced. Beware though, in order to replace this trim you must take the rear window out of the truck. Plus the bolts/nuts that hold the part in are under the headliner about 4 inches and are a bugger to remove. Otherwise you may want to search for a local MALCO distributer, they used to make a good vinyl top restorer.
