>>>>I love how the hard covers look and like their security. But dislike the fact if you want to haul a tall load they are extremely bulky and difficult to remove by yourself. For a few hundred bucks more than the cost of a hard cover you can buy a truck cap. I really liked the lund soft cover I had on my 91 F150. I recently ordered an Extang Black Max cover for my 99 and I'm putting it on tomorrow. The hardware is guaranteed for life and I figure if the soft top wears out after the warranty expires on the cover, it would still be cheeper to replace the cover a couple of times compared to the cost of a hard cover. I had the Lund on my old truck for six years and the cover never did tear. I did have to replace a couple of the snaps though, got a kit from Wal Mart that worked nicely.
>>>>I never really checked the mileage on my 91 it sucked as a general rule. I did however notice that there was a little difference in how it pulled a steep grade in overdrive, before the cover I would have to drop a gear to maintain speed where afterwards I didn't.
