Question Bud Deflector Problem: Novice needs help!!

Recently purchased and installed a bug deflector for the front of my F-150.
Followed the instructions to a T. Deflector screws into existing holes where rubber hood stops use to be.

Removed rubber stops, installed deflector, adjusted the hood stops (screw type mounted on truck), but every time I close the hood, the right side hits and begins chipping the paint!

I keep raising the hood stops, but no success. Is there some way to remount the black rubber stops? Or is there something else I can do?

Any help would be appreciated as I am a complete novice at self modifications, but am trying! Thanks.

Spyder207,

First of all BUMMER!!!! Second, who mfr's the bug guard? I've installed 3 bug guards on three of my trucks and have never had a problem like your having. What I would is take it off asap, return it to the place of purchase for exchange (could be misboxed, wrong application) or refund. My bug-guard is a Bugflector II (Pep Boys) just screwed under the hood w/selftapping screws (very easy. I too am a novice modifier).

Hope this helped.
