It just pries right off. It has a sticky substance that just holds it straight, but what really holds it are it's two pins that
pop into these 2 holes. I stuck a stiff
butter knife down in the middle of the emblem, and pried around, not hitting the paint on the outside. It's ok if you put a scratch or two under the emblem, cause you're gonna cover it back up anyways. Then once it came off I used a little windex and goof off to get the sticky residue off, so the new emblems can sit well. Then you just peel off the sticker thing on the new ones, and pop the two pegs right into the factory holes. Easy. Took about 10 minutes. No, I did not replace the one on my tailgate. I like that one the way it is. Just didn't want anyone to think I have a V6 :-)

If you look a little closer at the new badges you will find a seam between tritonv8 and f150. just cut along with a sharp knife and add to the base of the old f150 badge. no need to mess with the old badges.

If you buy the whole new emblem, I highly recommend keeping it all together. Cutting the bottom off and applying it to your current emblem won't be as strong.

I'm with Vegasdude, you guys got it all backwards.

I'd love to have a v6 emblem with the 5.4 under the hood.

An old shop trick here, use rubbing alcohol to take off the gooo, alcohol also works great for tree sap! To make ordering them from the dealer easier, part number: F85Z16720EA. Good suggestion conqsoft!

Putting a Powerstroke emblem would make people wonder! Or a v10, in which no one would really want to race you except for the rice burners!

I did the same on the tailgate of my new truck, the first weekend I had it. It lets those Chovies know what just left them in the dust. Removing the old one couldn't have been easier. I just warmed the emblem with a hairdryer and slowly pulled it off. The same thing works getting rid of those tacky "Sport" decals.

The gooey sticker residue can be easily removed/dissolved with "Goof-Off"; available from Home Depot (in the paint department). It contains mostly Xylene which will dissolve virtually all glues and even some plastics - no smoking during use.
