Angry BRANCH SCRATCHES

Does anybody have any suggestions for a product that removes tree branch scratches? I took my new beast out deer hunting for the first time and brought back a bunch of tree branch scratches. I tried using a product called "GS-27" but all it did was put swirl marks in my clear coat, so now I have to try and fix that too.

Red,
Try "General Care" forum. If you can't find the answer in there, try posting there. Good luck and welcome aboard.

I recently used Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound with good results. It comes in a red can and is mildly abraisive. Would probably take a lot of elbow grease to get a deep scratch out. I think it would also work well for freshening old paint.

Had the same scratches with mine. My friend used some stuff called glaze. Then he waxed it. Looks like new.

Where do you hunt? Little early for whitetail isn't it?

Don't use the red turtle wax product, look for the white rubbing compound for clear finishes. with our soft modern paint the red is too course and scratches.

You could try what I do, just keep a nice coat of wax on her at all times. I went to the mountains this summer, and the trees got me to. But all they were able to do is scratch the wax, they buffed right out. I did get one good sized scratch that went into the paint (or at least the clearcoat). I just waxed it several times and now you can't see. I'm sure a polish would do a better job of removed the scratch instead of covering it up, but I cannot bring myself to polish my truck.

Hey Tim C-I live in Georgia and our bow hunting season started last Saturday. It's hot and there's lots of mosquitos and ticks, but if you're a fanatic like me there's not to much that can keep a dedicated hunter out of the woods. I wonder how many other deer hunters there are out there who drive F-150's?

RedRyder,
I live up here in Alaska, and we don't have the small deer you have in Georgia, we have BIG deer called "Moose", also I hunt carabou, mountain goats, dahl sheep, black and grizzly bears where I live. I really do miss living in the lower 48 states and the big deer in Wisconsin.

Todd, I'm sure you've heard the joke about the hunter and the bear that has the punch-line "you really didn't come here to hunt, now did you?" How many Grizz's have you taken? It must be a rush to hunt something that can hunt you back if you miss!!! What caliber do you use on a bear?

I used to wheel all the time. Meguiars Body Scrub is the best. It's almost a compound. It will clean your paint like you wouldn't believe. I love Meguiars products.

I just took my baby out 4wheeling this past weekend and scratched it up pretty good. I bought a product from Kit Wax called Scratch Out. It works pretty well, it got all but a few of the deeper ones out. Over all, not a bad product.

RedRyder: I've also tangled with a few trees, one even chipped my window visor. And I had a nasty scratch from when I tangled with the lawnmower. That one went into the paint but not through to the metal. I tried Scratch Remover by Blue Coral. It's a liquid and comes in a blue tube. The lawnmower scratch took about 4 applications but you don't notice it anymore. All the tree scratches are gone. When I finished with the Scratch Remover I had to rewax all the spots I used it. This stuff worked for me
