Post moonvisor problems

I have had nothing but problems with my moonvisor, i have tried several different ways to add to its stability with only temporary results, it still pulls away from the 2-way tape on the middle anchors, and then eventually tares the metal brackets that are attached under the door edges and roof,,any solution or idea would be appreciated. Thanks

I am not sure about installation, i bought my truck used and it was already on and already coming loose in the middle. Since then i have redone it 3 times, it holds up fine as long as i do not exceed 55mph, but at 70mph the wind pulls the 3m tape loose, as if it was elmers glue. Anyway my husband found someone with one that has been installed for 7 years with no problem even at 70mph...it is done with a special type screw and actually screwed into the top of the cab(not seen from the inside)taking the place of the 3m tape,(as mine was done)and then also on the sides. It was done by whoever he bought it from and was properly done. My husband will now do mine(we have a shop) now that we know how, it did surprise us that it was screwed into the top of the cab, but now that we know what to get we see that it is secure and causes no damage to cab top .....As soon as we get the screws etc., I will post the type of screw and any other supplys, or hints to help with the job to do it right. Depending on how much someone charges to do it,you may want to do it yourself, it seems to be a simple operation with the right parts . Feel free to use my emial address if you like( same to all) and i would like to know how yours turns out and how it is installed, especially if different then i have described.

ThanKs for your reply, and if you find out anything more about this visor installation Please let me know,,,all information helps.

There are threaded inserts that go in like a pop rivet that leave a nice threaded hole to bolt to. They come insized up to 1/4 inch. That should hold the visor down. Check a Home Depot or hardware store.
