I have an 02 supercrew that i put the black carriage works bolt over on. I had to take the emblem off to make it fit flat against the old one. I dont like how i can still see the honey comb stock one behind it. Has anyone thought of cutting out the honey comb except for the four that hold the bolt over in place? Would that be possible?

I don't like the bolt over grills. You can see the old grill in the back and were the FORD emblem "was" at. They have a real "unfinished" look. If you buy a grill don't buy a bolt over. Buy a complete replacement. I bought a DJ flame grill and it is held on by rivits on the top and bottom that go through the shell. I just took off the old grill and sent it to HELL

Try not to get ripped off when buying a grill. I saw one moron pay like $250 for a p.o.s bolt over grill. Some shops are trying to make tons of $$$ selling those things.

I agree with Green_Fox, DO NOT buy a bolt over insert, get a direct replacement.
The price isnt too much more - sometimes equal or less - if you shop around.
The replacement look more finished and dont like cheap like the bolt overs

my 2 cents

thanks for your advice. unfortunate I didnt ask earlier. it looks real crappy. Im wondering if i can cut out the honey comb except for the 4 mounting points. It couldnt look worse could it? plus its one step closer to replacing with the cut away, right? thanks again
