Melted Grill?

I thought that heading might get some attention!

Actually, I don't want to melt the grill. I have a set of 100watt KC Daylighters. They were in my old truck behind a billett grill. I really only use them when I'd use the high beams. I don't do any off-roading.

My question is: Can they be mounted behind the factory honeycomb style grill that is stock on the 2002 FX4? Has anyone done it? Can the grill handle the heat they throw off?

Thanks.

JJ

i've seen the 130W ones behind the grill. i just have the fogs behind mine.
it will be fine, leave a 1/4 - 1/2 inch of air space between the two and you should be fine. if you are using them with out the truck running(no air flow on them) they might get warm, but i don't think even then it will cause any melting. my 130W KC's have plastic gaurds right on the glass, no issues.

Thanks. I want to keep the stock grill, but the lights are going to waste in a box in my garage.

I've got 130's in mine with about an inch clearance. No problems.
