Question Custom Grill Mod

I'm painting the grill black if you couldn't tell. Tomorrow I might paint the emblem black.

Well, I didn't like how it came out. I might take a pic of it in a few, but I'm going back to my original plan or painting it black.

Just glad to see the toe nails weren't painted.

Well, I didn't like how it came out
Thought that looked a bit extreme for just a grill painting.

Looks good LGJ, will match the scoop now. That McD job must be paying well.

Sled...

so what were u gonna to do with it b4 u decided to go back to black?

oh and LGJ, i decided to take ur advice and got a red bumper pad
i lucked out cuz they had a new bumper pad on ebay with my exact color code. got it for~70 shipped. pretty good considering i would have had to pay at least twice that to get my existing one sanded and painted.

Awesome! Told you it would look better.

To answer your first question, I saw some antidozing(spelling?) paint at wally world, so I got the base paint then the green paint. Well last night it didn't look tooo bad, but when I woke up...OUCH. It was like a neon green and looked horrible on the truck. So after I got off work tonight I painted it black, like my original plans and it looks awesome. I took a pic but it's too dark, and such. I'll take a pic of it tomorrow during the day. Everything ties in quite nicely. Black hood scoop, black grill, black lower vailance. Throw some chrome in there and wow.

Another thing I tried was painting the ford emblem, but the gel cover or whatever didn't come off like it said in the online instructions. I think I'm going to pick up an emblem off ebay or steal someones(not really) and see how that works out. Paint that sucker black too, or maybe use touch up paint that matches my truck...who knows.

sweet!, i bet itll look good with all ur black stuff and black wheels . i like chrome but i always hated those chrome grill surrounds. but u couldve left it the neon green color and entered some sort of local rice competition

i also wanted to paint my ford emblem but i read the procedure and it looks like it would take too much time and detail for such a little thing. but if u paint urs, i would make it the green color of ur truck. i think that would look good.

Pics! i love seeing the different things ppl do to their trucks

I was thinkin the same thing that Smokin said-green emblem.

And paint that grille surround green too, those chrome ones are ugly IMO.

Yes-Im pretty much repeating what Smokin said, but hey, great minds think alike

Gotta work with what I have. Dad doesn't want me modding the truck right now because I should save that money for "college"

Looks good Joe The emblem is not there, right? Almost looks like its painted black with the rest of the grille. Anyhow, did you decide what you're gonna do with the space? Someone on the boards had an emblem painted the same color as his truck. I remember seeing the pic but can't remember who it was. Looked pretty sweet though.

Rock pick is one that comes to mind.

Anywho, I don't know if it was my emblem or my hair dryer but I can't get the clear gel stuff to come off.
