Tips for OEM Soft Tonneau install?
Tips for OEM Soft Tonneau install?
I picked up a used Ford soft tonneau for my 2001 SCrew.
The guy who had it didn't really know much about it and I didn't have the truck with me.
Does this sound like the proper order of things:
1. Assemble frame on the ground (cover rolled up)
2. Move frame to bed rails with another person
3. Fasten frame to bed rails with U clamps
4. Unroll cover and gradually push cover into frame bit by bit
Does this sound OK. Any tips?
TIA

I have a low profile soft cover by lebra. Mine was also a no drill. I did it a little bit different than he told you.
1. I started out by putting on one of the side pieces with the clamps.
2. I put the front piece on.
3. put the other side piece on with the clamps.
4. put in the front bow and tighten bolts down that keep bow in place.
5. put rear bow in and secure in.
6. put on the rear piece.
7. unroll cover and start on the front center and push cover in.
then come to the rear center and push in. Finish by working your way around the cover til your finished.
Took me bout twenty minutes to put mine in with no help. good luck
