Lightbulb Found something new to get wax off...

I saw the commercials for Mr Clean Magic Eraser on tv so I thought I would give it a try. There was some wax on the trim of the wifes 2004 Escape so I had a good test subject.

Simply dampened the "eraser" and it did a very good job of getting the wax off without destroying the trim. After the eraser a wipe down with a clean rag took care of any streaks.

Wife reports cost is approx $2.50 for 2 bar-of-soap sized pads at the grocery store.

Haven't tried them on anything else yet.

Was this on old dried on wax?

When I got my truck there was wax dried on the trim(wiper cowl, bed caps etc) and I cant find anything to get it of. Ive tried Simple Green spray, Goop(both with a toothbrush), toothpicks and a bunch of stuff. Any ideas anyone? or will that "Maginc Eraser" work?

The wax was on the trim a good month or better from when I first waxed it. The eraser did a good job of getting it out of the texture of the trim.

I've found that the Magic Eraser is also a wonderful product to get into the 'texture' of vinyl and other plastic-like products. For example, I have molded vinyl running boards on my King Ranch... The ME got into the texture better than any product that I've utilized and managed to clean it rather than coat it.

I followed with a coat of Meguiar's #40 and they look just like new.

The ME is a great product, in my opinion, to keep in your detailing aresonal.

I had the same issue with wax on the trim that was about 3 months old. Tried the ME today and its all gone....couldn't have been easier and no mess on the paint!!
