Ford Step Bars

First of all I want to say thank you to everyone on these message boards for providing me with great information and ideas since I bought my '03 Supercrew back in May. Now I am looking to add a set of step bars to my truck. I have searched alot on these boards and have found that Westins come highly recommended. I have looked at the Westins and some other brands but I think I like the looks of the Ford chrome step bars the best, I also like the fact that they mount to the frame if I am not mistaken. I would like to get people's opinions of the Ford chrome step bars. I especially would like to know if they will start to rust after a couple of years because I have read of people having that problem with the black bars from Ford. Thanks again.

Can't speak for longevity, but I have them on my 03, and I like them a lot

Somewhat on/off topic here, but I have the basic chromed steel Westin's on my '01 SCrew and they haven't shown any signs of rust yet. Of course keeping them washed and waxed helps. I considered the Ford bars for my truck too, but finally decided they were too expensive and didn't offer anything over the basic Westin's. Just my $.02.

I have Ford's chrome steps on my 03. They are a simple bolt in operation. Very easy install. They don't attached to the frame, they attach to the rocker. If you look under your truck you will see the holes are already there. Install clips supplied with bars, and bolt them in. The bars are made by Dee Zee...

Thanks for the help. I think I am definitly going to get the Ford step bars. I saw them on a couple of Supercrews around my house and I really like the way they look. Does anyone know of a good place to buy them online?

I had the Ford black step bars on my 01 Scab F150. Had no rust or problem with them. Also as I am not a small person, I can say they held up very well.
