No drill brackets for toolbox?
No drill brackets for toolbox?
I bought some "grip tite" brackets at Lowe's over the weekend to mount my H&H toolbox but they are too thick to fit between the rail and the box. These were made by "Better Built". Does anyone have any other manufacturers of these brackets that may work or have you fabbed up your own brackets?
I will not drill into my truck to mount this box.
I don't like the box THAT much.

If you don't mind drilling the box, you can try this. Get a pair of those cheap truck bed hooks that have the square rubber blocks that fit into your stake holes. Make sure they include 4 square, flat metal plates. Line up your box and drill 2 holes where the threaded part of the hook will go. Assemble the rubber blocks, nuts, hooks, square plates, etc. to the box loosely, with the "hoop" end of the hook at the bottom of the assembly (the hoop will be inside the stake hole when you're all done). Make sure the 2 top square plates are inside the box. The other 2 go on the bottom of the rubber blocks. Set the box on the bed and carefully work the rubber blocks into the stake holes. (Use a couple of bath towels to avoid scratches). When it's all the way down, tighten the nuts inside the box. Don't overtighten. The rubber blocks will expand and the box will never come off. If you want to remove it, just loosen the nuts. I didn't use any kind of fasteners at all on the rear end of the box, and it's worked fine.
