Unhappy Grill Stains...

When I bought my F250, it had stains on the plastic charcoal gray grill work... you know, the grill work surrounding the FORD emblem. I have no idea what caused the stains... Does anybody know of a product that will rejuvenate or at least blend the stains into the grill?

It's a dark titanium color, correct? Ford sells spray paint that holds up well, and matches the factory color. If you don't want to go that route, there's a Plastikote spray paiint called Cast Finish that's about the same color. Shoot the whole area after masking, and it'll look as good as new.,,,,98

NP. Make sure to give it a good wash with dawn or some other grease cutting dish soap. And give it a mild sanding with a scotch brite pad or something if you're going to paint the whole thing. Good luck!,,,,98

If they're oil stains, they may wash right off:o

Could the marks be from an abrasive?
Roofers hosed my truck with an asphalt primer, and the first outfit they sent to clean it up used an abrasive pad - maybe a clay bar, way too well used - on the painted insert part and just totally screwed it. It looks like stains - but isn't...

Will the 4x4 grille fit in the 2wd hole? I always liked the honeycomb.

...tried scrubbing it

I tried a good scrubbing... it looks like something spilled that was sitting on the "hood jam" (when the hood was open)... could be a chemical stain... maybe brake fluid... that can eat paint off a vacuum boost!
I'll try the claybar... just happen to have some left over from when I put a couple-three coats of Zaino on her...
Thanks,

It may be oil from following to close to soemone in need of a re- build. I would try a degreaser on a small test area. The sooner the better. Walmart sells one called greased lighting that I have had sucess with.

... I tried a de-greaser, I tried claybar, and then... a rubbing compound... I figured I could always go back to the "paint it" plan... the rubbing compound removed the pronounced "I spilled something on my grill" look... it also removed the dull metallic finish and left a shiney blacker finish... much more preferable to the streaks... from a distance, it's hard to tell...
thank ya'll for the help and advise...
