I believe the proper term here would be asian, specifically a member of the indigenous people of Asia. Oriental usually refers to a thing, such as "I really got shafted on this oriental rug that was on 50% clearance at Macy's available only at freaking 6:00 in the morning the day after Thanksgiving. Turns out it's made in Mexico LMAO."

Oriental may be used if having a capital O, but that's another story..
