Dash

I want to do some work on my dash. specifically I want to make the lights brighter. Im talking about on the AC panel and the light switch. My friend said I should make them LEDs, but I would like them to be red as well, but I was thinking maybe the filter on the dash makes them the stock color and not the bulb color. I am also going to order a glo cluster for my dash, but I would like it to be brighter as well. Any help?

Whoa! you got blown?

Hey, sorry...

actually, I can attest to the LED's. I switched my eclipse over to blue interior lights from yellow. Damn, that looked sweet. I even made this fricken awsome see through clock... Got pix too! Man, I miss that car sometimes...

anyway the LED's were a great idea there, but it had little yellow covers on some of the bulbs, and yellow film between the bulbs, and digital stuff like the clock and odometer, so those were really easy to take care of, but before I got around to taking out the yellow filter I put a red LED behind the odometer, and the LED was bright enough to show no yellow. I then put a set of reverse indiglos in blue/red...

I know that probably doesn't help a lot, but I would suggest pulling the radio surround off, and just have a gander at the A/C controls, since they appear to be quite easy to get to...

Good luck! I would love to take all my lights to blue, but I know I could never get the compass and odometer, and to me that just would never work...

Keep us posted though. I'm really curious to see how it goes. I posted a similar question a while back, and never got a reply...

After I go do all my "get out of the army" paper work and before I go back to work, I'll probably take it apart and check it out. Ill let you know what happens. Ill probably add my sub(s) and amp at that time. Plus get the windows tinted, the sport mirror and the drop. Maybe I'll work on the exhaust system and add that ground effects kit.

Hey, I just went out to pull the truck into the garage, so decided to pull the A/C control and have a look. My socket set was right there on the shelf anyway... The green is most likely on the back of the white plastic. The bulb was just a plain old clear bulb... If that's so, you should be able to remove it with acetone, or you might just see how bad a red LED looks in there before you do anything... or a green LED would probably brighten 'er up!

either way, good luck, and keep us posted...

31Charlie,

What kind of setup do you have? I'm still looking for an intercooled kit for a V6.

Ya, enough about dash lights, lets talk about chargers.

Hows the truck feel? Have you timed it?

I love my truck. I havent taken it to a 1/4 mile yet because we dont have any around here, and my town is so sleepy that the ricers wont even race me. I guess they know they would win and dont want to bother.

I must admit though that the previous owner was the big spender and put the sc on. I was never able to talk to him, becuase I bought it from a dealership, but I am trying to find him because I have some questions I want to ask.

What does a stock 4.2 ext cab run? If I knew that I could give you a rough estimate. I have to go away for a few weeks, but I'll probably take my truck to a track in January or maybe december if I can find the time. Im thinking about getting an L. Well not thinking, I decided I will, now I just need the cash.
