Taillights for '03 Screw
Hey all, any idea if these lights off of Ebay will work on my '03 Screw? They say the fit the '97-'00 Flareside which I think has the backend as mine. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Whoops, forgot that part...
actually these say for '01-'03 F150 but doesn't specify Screw or Flareside.

Found your other post Posey, I see your frustration. I may still be willing to roll the dice if they look good on a Dark Shadow Gray truck. What the hell, I have nothing to lose except $60 plus tax and $20 shipping. Huh, guess that is a lot to lose.....

Jason,
YES, they will fit. I just put them on my '03 Screw and they look good with my black paint.
A couple pointers tho....
They don't come with any instructions.
You will have to shorten you mounting screws about 1/4 inch, so they don't "bottom out" and strip the mounting hole. I also recommend you put a drop of silicone in the screw hole to help hold against vibration.
The second item I found was the new gaskets that are supplied are to thin. The bulb sockets are loose if you use only one gasket. I had to double up the gaskets (stock one and one supplied with lights) to get a tight fit. It is very tight.
Last, the right side housing has the stop/turn socket hole cut wrong. It is near impossible to get the socket in. I had to remove the wire plug, install the socket and physically turn it past the stops, to be able to get the plug back on.
It is possible but take your time and be careful.
Definitely worth the effort.

Are your's leaking water? Mine have condensation all inside of them (on the right side).
They would look awesome on a dark shadow grey truck, just the quality sucks.
Definately some nice looking tails though.
Honestly I would advise you against them. I am already planning on getting the bermuda black tails pretty soon.

Check that other thread I started...
I think it is towards the end of the black headlights post and someone gives a link to them. Stylinconcepts also carries them. I have seen black ones for styleside before.

No, mine don't leak or show condensation. But I used both washers (one black and one white) on all 4 sockets. If you use just one washer (black or white) it won't make an air tight seal. When the lights are "on" the hot air is forced out and when they are turned "off" the cold air will creep back in, causing condensation.
Either that or you have a crack in your lens.
Do both show condensation?
