Window silver tint
Window silver tint
The tint on my back windows (supercab) is slightly silver/titanium, as you look straight on. If you look at the windows from a 45-degree angle, they look brown. I know it is factory tint, but I'm sure there must be a film out there that matches that color (so I can tint the front windows). Texas law allows 35% light transmission and no more than 35% light reflection. I can find silver film that is legal, but none of it has the brown shade to it. Does anyone know where to find this kind of tint?
I used the metallic Lumar tint on my windows and it worked out great. One thing to remember is that nothing from the factory is tinted. What comes from the factory is color injected glass and does nothing to keep the Texas heat out. I went over all the windows in my Screw with the tint. There is a much more noticeable difference in the cab with the metallized film all the way around. If you don't live in a warm climate, then I'd say save a few bucks and go with non-metallized.
Is your film bronze with the mirror effect to it or just regular reflective smoke? If it is mirrored bronze, can you tell me how Llumar calls it, so I can order it from them. I live in a small town and all people know here is smoke or black. I know I can go over the back windows with black tint and they will still look mirrored from the outside; I just want the front windows to be bronze/mirrored so they match my back windows.
