Black antenna???

Park in a ramp, at my workplace, that has 7' ceilings and on a few of the cross beams my antenna scrapes and I have a nice little flat spot starting to form. I would like to get an 18 to 20" antenna to replace the stock one. The only problem is that I would like it in black, like the stock antenna is. I've searched the internet and can only find the polished aluminum Billet/Trenz type. Can anyone suggest a place to find antennas with a black finish?

Thanks.....

They have all kinds of color choices and 4 lenghts to
pick from. I bought one a couple of months ago and
I'm happy with it. I got the 15 inch one and I have no
problems with reception with it on.

I kind of like it to catch - with only 6" or so above the roof of the truck, it's a good indication of "whether I'm going to fit"!

eflyguy......I thought that at first, but I will not go into any ramp that has a height limitation of less than 7'..... plus I don' t hit all the beams the same and as the antenna is swinging back and forth it will catch some of the beams underneath and as the truck goes under the beam the antenna is pushed down which springs it (where is gives in the middle and springs out). I just don't want to have it loosen the base.

Cool

HI!... I didn't like the really long factory antenna, so I got a shorter black one from CANADIAN TIRE. Cost me like $20.00(CAN). Here's a pic :

We replaced ours with a euro style antenna (black). Its short and looks great. I couldn't stand hitting the top of the antenna on the garage door everytime I pulled in and out...

Lightbulb You could try this . .

I just removed the little "ball," cut the OEM antenna to the desired length, filed the new end, grafted on the "ball," painted it all flat black and re-installed the antenna. It was free and took 15 minutes with no reception problems.

There is a Ford OEM "Low Clearance" Antenna available but I am not sure what the part number is.
