Flex or No Flex Clearcoat

I'm looking fer advice. I'm painting the bug shield on my truck, I ordered the primer and paint with the flex additive. However, I've just got a rattle-can of regular dupli-color clearcoat that doens't have the flex additive. Has anyone else used the auto-parts store clear-coat and what were the results? BTW I'm painting the front of a smoke colored deflector. Thanks for any help.

BroncoDave,

If you are painting the front of it, and clear coating it, you need something like a SEM clear coat with flex. Sorry no way around it.

You can get SEM products at quite a few places, so it should not be that big of a deal to find it.
