How are they wired (i.e. driving lights etc...) are the just plug and play?

The last I heard you had to cut a little bit out of the fiberglass that is immediately behind the headlights so that they would fit...
Plus, I've heard NUMEROUS (and I mean a buncha people) complain about them 'yellowing' after very short periods of time...
Just FYI...

Or get the real thing rather than just bulbs....
XENARCS...

Here are the Xenarcs...

They're kind of pricey but worth every penny.
Here are the L & Xenarc heads side by side. L's are in the front.

Feel free to email me with other questions.

Oh no I was definitely thinking actual HIDs, not bulbs. I absolutely love them in my Bimmer.
Do the Xenarc's include the clear lens housing?
Upon further research, they don't seem to be plug and play
does that mean you have to use an auxilliary switch instead of the OEM headlight switch?
If so I think a retrofit kit that is plug and play using the Lightening/Harley Edition lens would be the more desireable option.
Thanks for all the help.

The Xenarcs are a full assembly replacement. Every last thing that you need to install them is included in the box.
And, they are, indeed, plug and play. Very Very Very Very simple to install (did I mention very?) It took me all of about 1 hour to do them and that's because I was reading the directions and my wife was helping (what I'm trying to say is that I would've had it done in about 30 mins minus the wife - HAHA!).
They utilize the stock headlight switch with no addition of anything... that's just the way they work.
The only thing, electrically, that you have to deal with is tying in a power and ground into the battery. BTW, those two wires are included in the wiring harness which is with the kit. Also, the wiring harness is already in a loom and taped very nicely.
It's a TOP END kit and I've never heard of a single person not liking the set up. I love mine and doubt I'd sell them for what I paid... They're awesome.

SWEET!!! Thanks RP
Looks like I'll definitely be looking into getting the Xenarc kit. That is if I can stop spending money on the Bimmer.
Is there any reason you can't use the power and ground from the OEM headlight wiring instead of tapping them directly from the battery?
Also do you hppen to know the temp/color rating of the light discharge? for example BMWs use 4300K.
Again thanks for all the help.

Just curious as to where you'd recommend buying the Xenarcs.
Thus far I've found http://www.brightheadlights-hid.com/ any thoughts on them?

Yeah... I'm pretty sure brightheadlights.com is the low guy on the block right now but, I've seen a set go for $415 on ebay... might check there too...
No way around the power and ground off the battery as they require a CONSIDERABLE boost to spark the bulb. As far as useage though, they use about 1/3 of the energy. I can't stress enough that the harness, including the power and ground wires, are very low profile and hardly noticeable.
The Xenarcs are 4100K w/ 3200 lumens. Bulb life is around 3000 hours (which is over one-half year of continous use... that's impressive).
Let me know if I can help out any further... I don't think you'll go wrong with the Xarcs... I really don't. I've heard of a few guys on one of the other truck sites installing the aftermarket 'add-on' kits to their existing L heads and really not liking them much. With the Xarcs, the optics are specifically made for the HID light which is a much different light than regular halogen (which is what the L and HD lights are designed for).
There are a few more pics in my galleries thus, if you wanna see a few more pics (including some L heads pics), feel free to browse through...

A buddy of mine that lives over in Lexington just purchased the Xarcs from them and he had a very good experience with them. I think they ship out of NC or SC and the shipping was about $20 so, that's not too shabby.

I love what you did with the truck.
And I thought corner lenses for BMWs were expensive. I just got a quote for about $150 EACH for Lightning corners. BMW ones for my car were $80 for the pair including bulbs and bulb connectors.
I was thinking about adding the power sliding rear window and a sun/moon roof to my mine.
Again thanks for the help and recommendations for the Xarcs.
