Removing Overhead Console '01 SCrew

I searched around and found some old info on removing the OH console, but wanted to confirm with someone that has done this recently. It looks like there is a screw in the front and the rest is just clips. Do I remove the screw and then just pull straight down to remove it?

Yes, you are correct. Pressure clips are used in the rear.

It's just that easy Rob.

When I went fishing for the C209 connector, I pulled the OH down and had no problems (short of not finding the damn connector).

It mounted yet?

Not yet. I'm looking for a switch. Found one I like at Autoloc, but for some reason couldn't order it...some kind of website error.

Got a quote from my Ford dealer for a 2000 Contour switch....$60 Is that right??

Prolly call some junkyards today to see what I can find.

Yup, I was quoted $55 I believe. There are just too many Contours out there that must be sitting in the junkyards... definately try that route. I found one the first place I called.

Also, I believe that the Contour had a Mercury cousin... was it the Mystique? I think the switch there is identical.

If you find the switch, make sure that you buy the connector with harness it plugs into as well. I've got the schmatics on the wiring and can email those your way if and when you need them.
