I've tried some of the gel type tire dressings and while they look great and last a long time, the cleanup was too much for me. After a week or so, my tires would start to get dirty and "gunky" looking. The gel was very difficult to remove to get the tires clean again. I have started back using Armour All foam. I spray on a coat and let dry, then wipe with a cloth. Apply a second coat and let it dry overnight. This gives as good a shine as the gels...doesn't last as long, but cleanup is easy.

without a doubt....zaino tire shine. and i'm not just posting this cuz i use zaino polish for my paint, i could careless if my tireshine was the same brand.

i do alot of shows, and have tried dozens of tireshines since i've gotten my truck. They all either turned brown, slung off onto the paint, didn't last, or attracted dirt, or were too oily. i have NONE of these problems wtih the zaino Z16. I'd thought i'd at least have one problem out of the bunch, but i'm extremely happy with it.

one coat for low gloss, 2 coats for high gloss. 20 bucks for 16 ounces, but i use double coats and after every time i wash my truck and before every show and i'm only 1/2 way through the bottle since september. It will last me a year, so its pretty cheap.

Anyway, doesn't turn brown, doesn't sling off, lasts a pretty good amount of time, and dries so it isn't oily and turn black.

The age old question...

Vinylex

OR

Meguiars #40

OR

Meguiars Marine #57

You're going to get about 500 different answers to this question. The best way is to drop a few bucks on some suggested products. Go out there and find a bottle of Detailers Advantage, a bottle of Vinylex, a bottle of #40, order a bottle of Z...

Play with them. Use them. Note their effectiveness and longevity. Note how much 'road dust' sticks to them when you're cleaning your tires next wash.

Those are just a few things that go into my determination of a protectant/shiner...

Hey Rockpick save your money don't buy the Meguairs Marine #57 the #40 is the EXACT same stuff just in a diff bottle. But I think I already told you that. Anyway just thought I would pass it along since I don't like paying more money for the same product just becasue it says mairne and come in a blue bottle. Harley#356 where is a good place for price to buy the RAM-Air hoods from Keystione?

I am with Harley on the Z16 Zaino tire shine. For me it was a bit different.

I don't really care for real shinny tires. I wanted something that would make them look nice but like natural, kind of a satain finish to them.

I didn't like most the stuff in the stores, either too shinny, or too greasy etc.

When I bought my Zaino polish products (which nothing can beat) I went ahead and bought the Z16 tire shine.

It was perfect. I only use one coat so not real shinny. Not greasy at all. Within a minute or so after putting on you can rub your hand across the tire and NO greasy feeling. I can also say it last longer then some of the other products I have used like Armor-all.

They stay cleaner, much cleaner. I live down a dirt road about 300 yard long, and very little dust clings to the tires if any at all. Try that with Armor-all or those types of products and it would be cacked with dust.

Do as RockPick suggested, try some other brands, because it is kind of like engine oil (to each their own) I will stay with the Z16 because it gives the apperance I like. If I want more shine I can put another coat on it so you can get the look you want with the Z16, not real shinny, or real shinny.

While your at it you may as well pick up some other Zaino products, nothing outlast that Zaino shine, be it the tires or paint.

That Zaino shine just keeps going, and going, and going...

I use Meguiar's endurance high gloss. It don't turn brown and i live on a dirt road. So i know it works good for me. It last about 3 weeks if it doesn't rain alot. Plus it smells like grapes. I like armorall when I don't feel like doing much work.

I agree about Meguires Endurance. It lasts a long time. No-Touch is the way to go for a quick no mess dress up also.

I used to use the Meguiars Endurance stuff. Pretty good stuff, i used it quite often, but lasts too long IMO. pain in the azz to wash off, gotta really scrub, so if it builds up any it starts to go brown.

Josh, what's in this magical, mystical concoction that makes it work so well? Is it sylicone based? I've been using the Meguiars Endurance Gloss Tire Gel and haven't noted the browning issue you described, but it does tend to attract and hold dust and dirt pretty bad. As you noted, I try to use what works best on my truck regardless of label, so I'm kinda interested in the Zaino stuff.

The browning was from just dirt sticking to it. LIke i said, meguairs tire gel is a really good choice, i used it more often than other products i'd try out with, but i just like the zaino better. I'm pretty sure the zaino is water based, so it washes off when you scrub the tire, but it lasts pretty well through the rain and whatnot.
lasts about a week if you drive in the rain, otherwise like 2 weeks. i wash my truck every week anyway so i apply it every week.

when it comes to tireshine i could care less about being brand loyal. So if i find something i like better than the zaino tire shine, i'd definately switch
