Touch Up Paint

Ok, so I was down in San Diego CA drilling with my NG unit, after the day was done I went to see a movie. The parking was a nightmare almost all compact spots and no place to park my 50' away from everyone else. I made a stupid choice and tried to squeze into a spot I couldnt make. Make a long story short I got a nice white streak along my driver side door. I removed the white paint (which was from a pillar) but now i have about 3 inches where I need to touch up. I bought some paint from my local ford dealer and tried to apply it, but it hardly turned out like the rest of the truck. What are the proper steps for applying touch up paint.

Also I have a "few" scratches where it isnt really "touch up paint worthy" how do I get rid of those too. Please help.

first of all dont use it like white out. you barely need any on the brush at all, if you have alot on the brush it will be real noticable.

There is a procedure that should work as I've used it on my wifes car with great success...

It's going to take a while... be patient...

Do a search for chip fix or something of that nature. Intel486 wrote an EXCELLENT article on a thread about how to deal with such a problem. It does involve using 2000 grit sandpaper to smooth down the raised paint from touchup painting but, it's an excellent how-to...

I'll try to find the article as well... if I do, I'll post it.
