Cool

HI!... Actually, my tools are going to get some REAL use in a few weeks. I blew both head gaskets for the 4th time!!! This time I'm replacing the old style head gaskets with the new FORD improved multi layer ones. $132(CAN) EACH!!!!! OUCH! Plus all the other gaskets, two new timing chains and the T/C guides. Just wish I had the money currently to get a set of fully ported/polished big valve race heads and some stage 3 cams. Oh well there's always the FALL.

drag79stang,

Can you post pictures of under the hood. I'm thinking that I might want to do this mod.

HI!... Here's some pics of under my hood after I installed my MUSTANG hood scoop. I cut my hood to help vent out under hood heat. I have 40 of these scoops and I used the black one on my white truck. It kind of looks like the old style FORD scoops like back in the late 60's to early 70's.

Neal,
Got the scoop on the hood tonight. I am not done clear coating it yet so I won't post pictures until then.
I'm really surprised at how well it fits the shape of the hood. Mine is black on black and I think you shipped it to me about a year ago. Oh well you know, member in standing of the procrastinators club...

Sorry it took so long to reply.
The underneath looks pretty much like the white truck, with the exception of NO hole for the hood scoop.
Mine's totally for looks. (do like the look tho).

I'm also a member of the procrastinators club, (in good standing too). I still haven't installed the scoop grille. Haven't really decided if I want to cut down the one that came with it, or fab up something different.

Doesn't help that the race season starts in a week, and there are a FEW things left to do on the car..............doh'.................

I hardly think I could make ANY REAL SVT (i.e. lightning), look even remotely bad in comparison to mine.

I just hated the boring look of stock emblems, besides, the rest of the truck has its own 'unusual/different look', so I made it an SVT F150.

(do get quite a few people asking me WTF a SVT F150 is tho).

It makes us look bad because your truck isnt really SVT(Special Vehicle Team). Thats about as bad as someone putting R/T on their Dodge truck or car, Type R on a Honda, SS on a non SS Chevy. You catch my drift? I dont really care, but you can leave it on. You are just making yourself look like a Jackass.

Name calling.............what the f--k ever.

Oh, by the way...........thanks ever so much for allowing me to KEEP my truck the way I want..........

Here's the gig. Lightning/s, (like yours, if you have one), have LIGHTNING on the sides, and the little (cool), SVTf150 emblems on the rear. They look cool as hell. (lightnings , PERIOD).

Mine is MY own variation on the f150 theme.

I don't hardly care what names I might be called in the future, whatever/whenever, it's my truck, and it's (in my own thoughts), NOT riced out.

Lowered/handling package/Lightning sway bars front/rear, 4x4 bumper, fog light set setups, navigator lower valance, Lighting 3rd brake lite, headlites, clear corners, Mustang hood scoop and billet fuel cover. (although it does have a lund roll pan and rear spoiler, whatever.

If that's RICED out, then I guess mustangs and lightnings are riced out.......................................:rolleye s:

HI!... drag79stang : Welcome to the world of the **** retentive LIGHTNING owner. Some think that their ***** don't stink! The thing that they forget is that their presious LIGHTNING is made from a regular F-150 that was modified to become a LIGHTNING, not the other way around. So you used the SVT F-150 badges on your truck, big deal! It's your truck, you bought it with your own money, you can do what ever you want with it. This guys got some serious issues.

Yeah, I hate to even respond to things like that, but ya gotta do something.
What dya mean, wiping off tires before entering garage?.........I do that too!

KIDDING................

My truck never sees a garage, with the exception of saturdays when I work, then it gets washed, and gets to stay inside at least from 8 to 3...........

It is fairly pathetic that EVERYONE can't get along, without someone pissing in someone's wheaties about something as minimal as that. (i.e. lightning emblems)........

Whatever.................life goes on................some more happily than others, obviously!

enjoy your trucks, everybody!
