I am thinking about switching my 97's grill out with a 99 Expy. They look like they should interchange easily, my question is, will all of the f150's and expy's swap out ?

 

You would have to change out your bumper, grill, and surround to do this.

 

The F-150 grills changed in '00 but the Expi's didn't. In othe words I think you can do it on yours but the little clips may be melted together. You will have to spend some time dealing with that. Here are mine that I changed out for the honey comb.




Here is the one I bought thinking it would fit my '00. By the way, it is still hanging on the garadge wall. Notice the "rounder" look.

 

Been there, done that. I have two expy inserts, one black, one lazer(?) red.

I saw a bright red F-150 the other day with an expy grill. I still would like to put one on my 150.

Maybe I can hook-up with an expy owner wanting a billet grill and swap surrounds? I have chrome, but would consider a dark toreador red (JL).
