Apc & Matrix

I was looking to get some projector lights for my screw. I have heard a lot of people having problems and saying that APC is crap. What about matrix projector headlights? There are some on ebay right now

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33710

Anyone have any experiences with them?

I saw that auction and was wondering the same thing. I can't find a website for Matrix GR Motorsports or an online site that sells them for the F150/Expedition. I too have heard bad things about the APC projectors, but everyone I know of has had little problems getting replacements when the lenses turned yellow and according to another post APC solved that problem. I think I'll go with the APC's.

Exclamation

They look exactly the same to me, maybe it's a ploy to make more sales by making people think they're a different headlight?? Personally I would not buy the APC's knowing they're going to turn yellow?? Doesn't make sense to me. My Depos aren't projectors, but they also have stayed clear and bright in the two years I've had them in. I'll stick with mine, thank you very much,,,,98

if there is an "X" in the brand name, (matrix) I'd pass on it sounds like a ricer brand, and probably ricer quality

Ironically enough, they are sold at http://www.matrixracing.com in the lighting section of course. And my friends shop also sells them at http://www.bulletcustoms.com They're not on the web site, but he stocks them usually? Give him a call,,,,98

I'm almost 99.9% positive they're the same product. The projector lights are made in China/Taiwan. All Matrix and APC does is pay the company a few $$ and package them with their name on it.

Thumbs down

I can't see the name brand on the lens, but they look the same as mine?? But.....You don't want to deal with pro car parts, they're somewhat shady and some have been screwed by them. Any company that steals gallery pics from truck sites to use in their ads, is not worth giving money to IMO.,,,,98

apc projector lights/side markers FIX

I can say that I bought the apc projector head lights and matching side markers. I purchased them at www.streetbeatcustoms.com
I did run into some problems on getting them to fit. both the side markers and the head lights on my 2001 supercrew.

Even though the head lights can be removed less than five min. My instalation took over two hours. It didn't exactly fit right. After I installed the head lights. you can't plug them in cause the head light plug in is over to far to the side of the headlight assembly hole to plug them in.
If you run into this problem as I did.

HERE IS THE FIX:

Put the new headlight in place on the truck and notice where the plug in to the bulb is by looking behind the head light assembly. if it looks like it won't plug in. Mark top and bottom around the area of the plug for cutting. Do this for both sides. I took a hack saw and took the blade off and used the blade by hand and cut the area back about an inch on the top and the bottom and then took pliers and pulled out the area that I cut.

Install and plug in. I'll tell ya. once it's all installed. It will be worth it. Big diffrence in looks. I think you can do all this in about an hour with the info I gave ya. then 30 min to wire up your projectors.

Good luck
