Question for Vaporlock

Vaporlock - just picked up the UGA emblems today - very nice job!!!

Please give me some insight on how to install them on the grille and tailgate.

if you are talking about the emblem overlays, they aren't too hard to put on.

1st i got some dawn and put some on a damp rag and wiped the emblem down really well to remove any wax or oil, then i sprayed it with water to get any soap left off. then some alchol on a rag and wiped them down once more. becareful though, too much and i think you can dissolve the emblem clear shell thingy.

Then i just peeled off the overlay, prayed that i'd get it centered, and stuck it on, then worked over it with my fingers to make sure it was on there good, and went all around the edges and everything so i knew it was stuck on good.

Been on for about a month or so through rain snow ice, just about everything BUT sun so i think it'll hold up just fine

Harley#356, I cant tell from the shot if your overlay is under the chrome ring but it looks good. Have you or anyone mounted the overlays under the ring or is it to thick? Thanks…

Quick,

No way to lay the sticker beneath the rubber coating. The FORD portion of the emblem is actually raised and there isn't a flat spot to mount the sticker. I recently repainted my emblems and had the rubber portion off... I can't see any way that you could do it that way...

Sorry...

nope, you can't mount them recessed in, but i don't see why you'd want to. Right now they are just barely convex (or is it concave? i never remember which is which. LoL) but they are slightly bubbled out. I've had people walk right up though, touch the emblems, and ask where i got them made at. When i tell them its just an overlay they take a double look cuz they didn't realize it was just a gel coated sticker over a stock emblem
