Line out converter hook up

I replaced all 4 speakers in my '99 today and tomorrow I plan on putting the amp in for the door speakers only. I have a LOC and would like to know where is the best place to pick up the speaker wires? Should I do it at the back of the HU or find the wires as they go toward the doors. How hard is it to get to the stock HU, do I just removed the front plastic or come in under the dash. Also, the amp I am using is an old Kenwood, it has a wire to hook to the HU so it will only turn on when the HU is on, what color wire on the stock HU am I looking for to hook this wire to? Thanks.

Put the loc in with the deck. Typically with a ford you remove the trim panel around the radio/ac controls. http://www.installdr.com can help you with that. Stock decks dont have a remote wire so you will want to tap into your acc wire. You can find the color for it at the url.
