imputting a single
15" square kicker L7



just wanted to know which amp can put this sub to work

why kind of amps are great and how many watts would be recommended for this to hit good?

 

Do you know What ohm rating the sub is? Dual 2, dual 4, single 4, etc.

Without that its hard to recommend an amp.

Also what kind of enclosure will you be using?

 

i have no idea i got the kicker as a present

i have 01 f150 supercrew so im removing mycenter console with a custom made one

i dont want something exagerating like wow just something that can pik it up so it can sound good

 

Do you have the box to it? If so it should be marked on the box, if not check the basket usually around the terminals, sometimes manufactures stamp them on there. If all those fail you'll need to get a dmm (like 10 bucks at radioshack) to check the ohm load.

Without knowing that any amp recommendation could potentially either blow the sub or fry the amp.

 

model 15l72 is a 2voice coil set up and if you went with the kicker 1000.1 at 2 ohms you will have plenty of power go to online car stereo.com

That amp wouldn't work at all if he had that model. That's dual 2ohm, it has two voice coils. So it could only be wired to 4ohms or 1ohm. At 4ohms it'd get roughly half power, at 1ohm it'd fry the amp.

That amp would only work if he had the dual 4ohm model, which he could then wire to a final 2ohm load.
