I have used Eclipse decks since 94 and love them. They don't have a TON of features for the money, but I haven't found a brand of decks that sound better. You can definitely get an Eclipse deck for under $350.

Im with ptbf150. Eclipse' are an awsome head unit. Real sleek and clean looking nothing to godie or retro looking. Will play just about any CD with a scratch (some of mine have vallys in them and they still played). They also but out a very nice sound. I think you should really invest in this unit.

yeah, eclipse HUs are sweet... but I'm partial to alpine myself. You can get a CDA 7873 for under $350, plus its got a decent amp built in, 3 sets of RCA outs, S/W controls built in, two 3-setting x-overs.

I second Ruune on the Alpine HU,s, I have the CDA- 7875 basically the same unit as the 7873 except for button colors and face plate difference. Lots of adjustment variables for X-overs, subwoofer phase adjustment, bass enhancenet, bass width etc. It has CD changer controls, cd naming, station naming and has XM radio capability when available. Internal amp alone sounds good but gets really sweet sounding hooked up to externals.
Should easily be able to pick up the 7873 for under 350.00 off Ebay and on sale once in at stereo stores. I was given a deal on the 7875 for the price of the 7873 or I would have the 7873 myself

yeah.. the 7875 and 7873 are the same deck minus the remote, plus the 7873 matches my dash. I got a deal on both that and the controller. Man, I'm still playing with all the settings on this thing!
