Sell it with or without Dilemma
Sell it with or without Dilemma
I have a 2001 supercrew 4 x 4 good shape 127k. Time has come to sell. Problem is that I have a primo about as good as they get stereo in it. I will spare most of the details as they are numerous but in general system is over 1 kilowatt of Mcintosh. Do I take stereo out then sell? Or do I try to find a buyer who recognizes the quality components and the 10 grand I spent to try to recoup some of my stereo systems cost? Or, do I take it out, sell truck, and part out stereo trying to recoup my costs but incurring additional installer cost maybe 500 bucks? Appreciate all help!
Take it out. Just took out the CD deck and MTX speakers from my old Yaris. Care salesperson told me they were essentially worthless, the factory stuff was good enough.
I should pocket about $100-150 at the hock shop. Good for a couple months' worth of beer.

Keep the truck man! That sounds like an awesome vehicle. The install must have cost thousands in labor.
If you are just dead-set on parting with the truck(like, to buy a car or something), take the stereo system out and do a little searching on EBAY to get an idea of what the components are worth....you could also re-install the equipment in your next vehicle for the most value to you.

Keep the stereo system, audio components hold their value and you can use them somewhere else. If you did the installation work yourself, you can offer to sell the audio components plus the installation service, that would get you the best return.
