Ok i have a Rockford Fosgate DB1000, it keeps going into protection mode. it was working fine until today i turned on my truck and no bass. plz can any one help? i opened it up and it does not have any fuses that i can see.

 

Check your grounds.

 

make sure it is getting airflow even behind the amp

 

Also what ohm load are you running to your amp and what's it rated for? And is the amp clipping?

 

every thing is nice and tight. its been running perfectly fine until today all of a sudden protection!!

 

Well I just looked up the amp and it's 1ohm stable, so it's not an improper load going to it. What sub do you have hooked to it? And how much rms are you trying to push it?

 

Hey pizzaman, sounds like he needs to check the inputs like yours. protection mode is both in and output. Disconnect your subs and see if it turns on. subs and wires can short . Disconnect the RCA's and power up...see if it turns on. if none of these help it could IC regulator or output transistors too. too high of resistance on ground..start simple.
