amp install factory head unit
I am about 75% done on the install of my system. 2010 f150 reg cab, non sync radio. I got the amp installed with sound processer, new speakers. Takes forever running wires. I only have the door speakers alive right now. I need to do the rear speakers. I ran new speaker wires 16 ga to doors. Yes, the rubber conduit for door wires is open. What a difference in sound. Not fully tuned yet.
I'm getting a little noise on left speaker, might be patch cord. I grounded to the jack bracket bolt. Behind driver seat. I still have to install rear speakers and clean up wiring.
Using the following electronics
mtx re-q5 sound processer
Alpine mrp-f300 amp 4 channel 75w@2ohm
infinity 6829cf speakers 5x7"
Right now i'm using auto sensing turn on, from re-q5.

I am just curious why you used the mtx re-q5 sound processer? I am looking at the same Alpine Amp and I thought it was a High Level Input Amp that accepts speaker wire inputs? What factors made you decide to use the mtx re-q5? Thanks.
the sound processor takes the signal from the head unit and changes it to give you a flat signal from 0 to full volume and also gives a nice voltage over the pre-amps to drive the amp giving you a cleaner sound.
The stock head unit in the 09-10 limit bass as you go up in volume to save the crap speakers they install in the truck. You could install a regular line out converter and adjust the gain on the amp to give you higher volume output at a lower volume setting.

Thanks for answering that question for me. I was playing around with it today, because it was raining. I don't like the auto sensing turn on, from the re-q5. If you have the volume low it won't sense any input. Will have to run a remote wire. But so far it sounds good. A little noise, but I thing its a loose connection.
